Winchester GP were truly humbled when one of our patients, unprompted, started sending in their weekly experiences of starting the weightloss medication Mounjaro. We think it’s an incredibly brave and generous thing to do, and so are delighted to share their updates verbatim here.

Week 3 - weight 99.6kg (18 days in)
I can't believe it. I honestly don't remember the last time I was under 100kg. I keep waiting for the number to go up as that's what happens when you diet usually doesn't it? The number goes down, then it goes up a little. But every time I get on the scales the number goes down.
I've gone from being afraid people might notice I'm losing a little weight and asking questions to telling everyone, well certainly more people than I had intended to tell. When I stepped off the scales I messaged everyone I’d told to update them. I've been so relieved with how everyone has been incredibly supportive. There are still a few close family members I probably won't tell though, not yet.
Interestingly, I haven't noticed a change in my figure yet but that's ok. That will come. I've joined a new gym and am a bit frustrated that with a busy few weeks I haven't managed to go as often as I'd like but I'll get back to a good routine when I'm back from my holiday. I realize that sounds cliche but I will. I have so much motivation to go.
This weekend I'm going to a festival and then away for a few nights so I'm feeling a little nervous about the food choices I'll have and whether I'll have any adverse reactions. I'm taking my injection the day before I go so at least I won't be hugely hungry when I'm there. I'll let you know how I get on next week. I'm also very aware that my dosage goes up soon which is making me feel a little apprehensive. I'll keep you updated.
